Page and some were corroborated. >> the line there is some were corroborated. if only some parts were corroborated no matter what else was put into the fisa application, that would mean other parts were not corroborated. isnt it fair to say that is a problem? >> no. this fisa application was to begin an investigation. it was not to present a closing argument to a jury. the only way you can get more evidence and start to corroborate what was in that dossier is to launch the initial investigation....

With how the investigation goes on. i want to comment on representative trey gowdys words. the russia investigation is going to continue. nothing is going to impede it. i dont suspect that robert mueller is going to be removed. i think it would be a colossal error for the president and i think hes comfortable with letting things sort themselves out. i argue that the democratic memo should have come out at the same time as the republican one. i thought it was bad form. i thought it was a huge, hu...

Page, who we know was first surveilled in 2013, at least two to three years before he ended up in the trump orbit and years before the steele dossier ever existed, just talk about carter page being in the center of a big, big political distraction, a movement to smear the fbi which may have the effect of creating a smoke screen so he can do what he really wants to do, which is to get rid of the guy overseeing the mueller probe. >> i think it is important to call it, we all remember that the muel...

Rules each of those times when they apply for a renewal of that fisa warrant, they would have to convince the judge not just that the original information was solid but that the surveillance that had been authorizized was in fact producing new evidence. so as much as jim jordan holds up four times in front of the fisa judge as a problem, thats actually indicative of the fact that these wiretaps or whatever they were, were developing new and different evidence quite apart from whatever was used o...

So they may have been citing other aspects of the story. we dont know because we havent seen the fisa application. >> youre not denying that steel was a source. >> christopher steel said in a court filing that he talked to a number of journalists when he came to washington in september of 2016. and he named the news organization. ta he spoke to. and yahoo news thats me, was one of them. im not giving anything away. yes, christopher steel was somebody i spoke to when i wrote the story. >> implica...

Source, that what they should have done and what the normal practice would be is they would go back to the court and inform the court. so the amount of information that they originally in the first application would have needed to provide to the court depends on all the other information that was in there. so it depends on how critical his information was to the application. and we just dont know that, and the members that youve had on havent read the applications, havent been briefed on them. a...
