All part of a drama that unfolded here 50 years ago today and changed the course of american history. John f. Kennedy, the 35th president of the united states, was shot and killed by a gunman firing from the depository. Thousands dame to dealey plaza to commemorate the anniversary and hear the words kennedy never got to speak that day. In less than 20 seconds he jumped the fence that runs along pennsylvania avenue and raced inside the north portico entrance to the white house. He was armed with a small knife.
