Owners of a potential new beer garden and brewery in Pace are vowing to fight the Santa Rosa County zoning board s recommendation that they not be allowed to have live music at their as-yet-unopened pub, despite calls from neighbors who are worried about live music infringing on their personal property rights.
The zoning board unanimously denied two variance requests Thursday night from business partners Sean Thompson and Mohamed Jaoui, who are looking to bring a business called 5 Flags Brewing Company to the popular Pace/Pea Ridge corridor near the Five Points intersection.
The partners requested a conditional use variance request that would have allowed a live music event venue in a highway commercial district zoned-property, as well as to increase fence height and setback requirements for a fence that would surround the property.
