Lake County Sheriff Don Bell has released the names of the two inmates that allegedly assaulted a detention officer and attempted to escape the jail the evening of April 5.

Deuel was arraigned on the charges Monday in District Court where he pleaded not guilty.

Nearly seven months after Mika Westwolf was struck by a vehicle and killed north of Arlee, charges were filed Oct. 20 in the 20th District Court in Polson, and suspect Sunny Katherine White was arrested Saturday, Oct. 21, in Kalispell.

Polson Police Officer Matthew Timm, 41, was arrested late last Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 13, by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department on a charge of sexual abuse of children.

Montana is above the national average for alcohol impaired driving deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The state has one of the highest fatality rates in the nation for drunk driving deaths. Around 66% of all fatalities on the road were the result of impaired driving in 2020, a number that has increased.

The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Scott Bryan who the Flathead County Sheriff's Office reports he had no listed addresses in Kalispell.
