Threats of school shooting put Florence Junior/Senior High School on remote learning

FLORENCE, Colo. (KRDO) -- A 17-year-old suspect is in custody after allegedly making threats about "shooting up" Florence Junior/Senior High School.
On Tuesday at 11 a.m., the Florence School Resource Officer received multiple reports from students that a juvenile male had allegedly threatened to "shoot up" Florence High School.
The SRO and Fremont RE-2 School District officials put the school on heightened alert status in response to the threats.
The Fremont County Sheriff's Office and Cañon City police worked on finding the suspect. After a few hours, deputies located and attempted to contact the suspect in Cañon City.
