A Broward County inspector general alleges that a City of Fort Lauderdale building services official improperly authorized building permits for a beach front luxury condo project, an apartment building and a warehouse converted into offices for the Broward Sheriff's Office. Both the city and its official, John Travers, denied any wrongdoing. But the inspector general's office is recommending an eight-year review of the city's permitting process.
