Mickey, bajo el papel de perspicaz investigador, logra entrar en el camarote del sospechoso, donde busca sin éxito los diseños del cañón sustraído ilícitamente del Ministerio de la Guerra. Sin lograr su objetivo, es sorprendido por el propio Pedro Ceñuda que regresa espontáneamente a su habitación. Y como si se tratara de algo premeditado, justo en el punto más álgido del nudo, la historieta de aquel astuto ratón quedó interrumpida por las consecuencias políticas y sociales que conllevó el estallido de la Guerra Civil española.
