welcome everybody. the battle for new hampshire. the boston globe is backing jon huntsman. the former utah governor offers the country an opportunity to renew itself. talking with eric, who s worked with mitt romney nearly ten years. his senior campaign adviser, and he joins us live from boston this morning. nice to see you. thanks for talking with us. thank you. let s begin with this endorsement. what do you think the impact will be here in new hampshire? well, soledad, boston is a two newspaper town, and the globe has a liberal editorial page. the other newspaper is the boston herald a more conservative editorial page. pleased to get the endorsement of the boston herald and yesterday there were two newspapers in new hampshire that announced endorsement for mitt romney. one was the national telegraph. pleased to get that. the other the eagle tribune. there s a growing sense mitt romney is, one, the best person to lead in the white house on jobs and the econ

i m wolf blitzer. you re in the situation room. we begin with a stunning turnd around in south carolina where mitt romney has nearly downed his support in the past month to take a solid lead. in our latest cnn orc poll, 37% of likely voters are now backing romney in south carolina. santorum and gingrich are battling for second and 18% respectly. but santorum is soaring. while gingrich has dropped 25 points. paul has jumped up to 12%. perry has slipped to only 5% in south carolina. jon huntsman stands at 1%. with a look at what s behind romney s south carolina surge, let s go to joe johns. wolf, taking a detour from new hampshire, mitt romney decided to go somewhere he thought he could use some help, hoping a little extra attention to the palmetto state would pay off. looking stronger than expected in south carolina, mitt romney wrapped up his brief swing with a rally in conway. it s a state where the candidate came in fourth in the last presidential primary, but this ti
new hampshire union leader came out for gingrich, now the boston globe has backed huntsman, not the former massachusetts governor, mitt romney. we received the endorsement of about half the papers in the state. we just got the endorsement of the boston globe. we re moving forward. i feel very good about where we sit in new hampshire because i know this state loves an underdog. romney with a commanding lead in new hampshire polling. he s spending as much time as possible down south in south carolina. that state votes on the 21st. check out this poll, brand-new showing romney s hard work is paying off. he s now running well ahead of santorum, gingrich and ron paul who are all bunched up there in mid-field. romney will be back in new hampshire in time for dinner. in the face of republican outrage, president obama is standing by and with his consumer financial protection bureau and the man that he has chosen to lead it. mr. obama visited the bureau personally just two
