The Food Bank of Delaware announced today that applications are currently being accepted for the organization’s free 14-week training program, The Culinary School.
Classes begin Monday, March 22 and meet remotely and in small in-person groups during the weekday at the Food Bank’s Milford facility.
Students will work under the guidance of Chef Instructors Tim Hunter and Tish Badamshin and learn basic and high-end kitchen sills and participate in a two-week paid work experience. Students also have the opportunity to earn ServSafe certification.
“There are great jobs available in the foodservice industry,” said Hunter. “While the pandemic has impacted our industry significantly, many sectors are currently in need of skilled employees. As restaurants bounce back as more Delawareans get vaccinated, there is going to be even more of a need.”
