The Second Annual Desert Foothills Book Festival, presented by The Holland Center and Desert Foothills Library, will take place 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at The Holland Center, 34250 N. 60th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85266. Admission is free to the public.
Over 70 authors from a variety of genres will showcase their books and personally inscribe and sign all purchases. The Desert Foothills Book Festival was created by a group of local authors to connect with book lovers and to promote literacy.
“Our goal is to create a positive environment that promotes a passion for reading,” festival committee chair, Caren Cantrell, explained, “while raising funds for a children’s literacy program.” Proceeds from the event will fund the nonprofit “Creative Kids: Tell Me a Story,” a literacy program where children learn to create their own story.
Additionally, there will be book giveaways and gift basket raffles. For more information, please visit the website at www.desertfoothil
