TECUMSEH For Dick Covell, this Saturday will be the first one in a very long time that he hasn’t been at Gregory’s Barber and Styling Shop in Tecumseh in the very early hours of the morning for his customers.
“I started opening up early a long time ago,” he said, and gradually it got earlier and earlier. “Now it’s 6 o’clock and I have guys sitting out there at 5:30. But now they’ll have to come at 8.”
That’s because Covell, who’s 74 years old, retired this past Saturday, bringing an end to a barbering career that began in the fall of 1966.
