Boko Haram terrorists have staged an ambush for the Nigerian Army personnel, killing a lieutenant and two vigilante members around the Lake Chad area of Borno State. Sources confirmed that the attack came after the military takeover of the Boko Haram enclave in Krenowa in the Marte Local Government Area, five days ago.   An army officer in the 353 Artillery regiment, Ojo cantonment, Lagos identified as Boyi ThankGod has killed himself.   The soldier, attached to Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade Abeokuta, Ogun State, was said to have suddenly cocked his rifle and shot himself in the head.   The incident happened on Monday, a colleague of the deceased told SaharaReporters.   He was said to have complained about his unpaid allowances and showed signs of depression before he eventually took his life.

The attack took place on Saturday after the governor attended the 24th convocation of the University of Maiduguri, Borno State.
