For the 2022 model year, Toyota has reimagined its full-size pickup from the ground up. Andre Smirnov had the opportunity of driving a non-hybrid Tundra Limited CrewMax 4x4 over 150.5 miles (242.2 kilometers), tallying around 19.9 miles per gallon (11.8 liters per 100 kilometers) at the pump.

Building on Toyota’s global truck heritage, rather than just its two previous incarnations, the 2022 Tundra came out as a possible contender for the full-size pickup truck crown. But it might want even more, at least digitally.

Manufactured in Princeton between 2007 and 2009, then in San Antonio through 2021, the second-gen Tundra is no more. Toyota redesigned the half-ton pickup truck from the ground up for the 2022 model year, and the newcomer couldn’t be more different from its precursor.

For those fellow Tundra enthusiasts out there who live and die by the Tundra, you will absolutely love the hybrid version. Not only is Tundra completely different but the way it is designed will blow your mind.
