Ford unveiled the F-150 Lightning battery-electric pickup. Arriving in spring 2022, F-150 Lightning will be available in four series and two battery options at more than 2,300 EV-certified Ford dealers across the country, with the option for fleet customers to access Ford’s complete ecosystem of connected data and telematics services via Ford Commercial Solutions.
F-150 Lightning offers a standard-range battery targeting 230 miles of EPA-estimated range and an extended-range battery targeting 300 miles of EPA-estimated range.

The commercial-oriented entry model starts at $39,974 MSRP before any federal or state tax credits, while the mid-series XLT model starts at $52,974 MSRP, offering additional comfort and technology. Ford is taking reservations with a $100 deposit.

Ford has revealed the F-150 Lightning, its first electric pick-up truck.
Destined for the US market, the truck has a real focus on commercial buyers, with the ability to power external items such as tools from the car’s battery – and it can even power your house.

Power comes from twin electric motors that make 555bhp, while the 1,050Nm torque figure is the highest ever to come from an F-150. It has four-wheel-drive and can go from 0-60mph in around 4.5 seconds.
There are two battery options, called standard-range and extended-range, which can travel up to 230 and 300 miles respectively. It can be charged at up to 150kW, which can add up to 54 miles in 10 minutes.
Ford dubs it the truck of the future, and that it may be. After launching the F-150 Lightning, there’s a lot to like about this all-electric pickup truck. Ford's big reveal left a lot of unanswered questions however.
