8:00 a.m. we still have very warm water ahead of this storm. the storm could actually strengthen before it makes landfall and that could be also very dangerous. word that we just got in moments ago, we have a tornado watch out for parts of coastal, north carolina with these land falling systems and their counterclockwise winds and the winds coming from different directions with the wind shear, we have the threat for weak tornadoes. so structural damage could occur. here someone of our forecast models. and you can see kind of stalling once it makes landfall. it still could hug the coast. and, again, the problem here is prolonged events. this is not going to just barrel into the coast and then get caught up in a trough and move northward, it s going to stay with us probably until monday. so that s why we are predicting incredible amounts of rain, catastrophic, life threatening rainfall amounts and then over a foot of storm surge which will be incredibly damaging for these vulnerable coas
maker for sure. anywhere from 130 to 156 miles per hour and that will be doing a lot of damage along the coastline. the question, or something interesting about the storm as the track. typically when you see a storm or florence of sitting it almost turns out to see these are passed hurricane tracks. that s not going to happen this time and the reason for it, a large high-pressure system to the north is kind of forcing the storm towards the southeast here in the next couple days. the more we run the models, the more they are in agreement. these are tropical models and you can see them already side-by-side here all the way up to the coast getting into thursday. there s a little indecision at this point which is what will happen when we reach the coast? number of the models take it right inland and a number happen to have her and fit over the coastal carolinas which means a lot more rain for that situatio situation. this is one of our forecast models and we are looking at
arrives tomorrow afternoon into the lesser antilles. the winds do continue to lighten up a little bit there as we will look at winds at 35 miles-per-hour by the time we get to puerto rico that will be on monday. still a system those folks will want to pay close attention to as rain will be a big issue. it is not the only tropical system out there right now. off the coast of carolinas, we have a tropical depression, it will strengthen and actually our forecast models will say this is going to become a hurricane as well. you notice the track, it runs parallel to the coast. what will that mean for the united states? perhaps some choppy seas, perhaps some riptide current issues but not expecting this to provide any sort of rain as i do think it is going to be far enough off the coast that all this rain is going to stay farther out to sea. otherwise the stories across the country continue to be the heat. yes, the big cooloff on the eastern half of the country. that s been the case today as
forecast models right now are keeping that just far enough out to see that it shouldn t be affecting any travel plans. really cold weather settling in the midwest and northeast. cold temperatures they are by a margin nice-looking thanksgiving forecast and traveling shouldn t be too bad. fighting a lot of crowd. perfect weather for turkey. tranter after the break on a major milestone for a royal couple. what queen elizabeth and prince george are celebrating monday. the 70th wedding anniversary. also a turkey server part of the thanksgiving holiday. president trump s first-ever turkey pardoning. spark cash card
running over though the islands and running to the north. here is that path. stays a category 4 until it gets closer to the eastern side of the bahamas, that is when you begin to see our turn. that line there is the path of irma. this is going to turn before that so we are looking at this running as we said eventually to the right of the bahamas. here is all our forecast models, you do see a wide berth there but you begin to head up perhaps to the east coast, that is not taking you until saturday and sunday. there is plenty of time to get a better idea of where this is going to turn but we have a good idea of running over all these islands in the caribbean, a very big storm. hurricane jose is beginning to spin as well, this is beginning to look less and less organized. it will be falling down to a tropical depression here soon. it is going to continue to lift up the coast, i think people
