BATON ROUGE - The East Baton Rouge School Board started running the numbers for the upcoming year’s budget  in the first of four meetings.

The State College Area School District is exploring three possibilities for Park Forest Middle School’s future. One possibility, which the district says it’s leaning toward, is to build a new school on district property across Valley Vista Drive from the current school.

Traffic safety advocates from across the Commonwealth were recognized at the annual Youth of Virginia Speak Out About Traffic Safety awards banquet.

The Top 300 MASTERS are listed in alphabetical order by last name.

            Each year, Bedford County Public Schools names a teacher of the year. It recognizes teachers who have done an outstanding job. The process starts with each school naming one of its teachers as teacher of the year for the school. It's an honor that teachers greatly appreciate because they  have been nominated by their fellow teachers.

            District 7 school board member Martin Leamy has called it quits. His resignation was effective Jan. 31 and the school board is seeking applications from people interested in filling the seat.
