The National Weather Service says river levels will remain elevated over the next several days, bringing the potential of localized flooding to low-lying areas.

Although Idalia made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend as a Category 3 major hurricane, its effects were minimal on Florence County.

Socastee area weathered Wednesday’s Tropical Storm Idalia. Now the National Weather Service is warning of flood risks elsewhere in the county.
