PARIS, Feb 22 (Reuters) - The negative impact from cold snaps in January and February is expected to be limited because most of the affected areas were protected by snow cover, the European Union's crop monitoring service MARS said on Monday.There have been three cold spells in Europe since the beginning of January, with the third being the most pronounced and affecting the largest area, it said in a report.

position in Euronext milling wheat futures and options in the
week to Jan. 22, data published by Euronext showed on Wednesday. Non-commercial participants, which include investment
funds and
financial institutions, decreased their net long position to
84,150 contracts from 92,180 a week earlier, the data showed. Commercial participants similarly decreased their net
short
position to 121,534 contracts from 133,684 a week earlier. Commercials short positions accounted for 59.3% of the
total
