The summit was hosted inside Greenfield Village, and ended with participants joining students from Henry Ford Academy to restock fish into the Henry Ford Rouge River Oxbow, which runs through the property at the Henry Ford and Greenfield Village.
Magnet fishers celebrated Earth Day on Saturday at Fort Street Bridge Park in southwest Detroit where they did their part to clean up the lower Rouge River.

Ohio-based Marathon Petroleum Corp. has announced it will offer to purchase residential properties in the Boynton neighborhood in southwest Detroit in 2021 with the goal of creating green space as well as a buffer for residents from I-75 and the area’s industrial neighbors.
Marathon Petroleum Corp. has announced a property purchase program in a southwest Detroit neighborhood, which borders Downriver, beginning in 2021 that will allow it to develop green space.
Marathon said it will offer to purchase properties in the Boynton neighborhood of southwest Detroit, with the objective of creating a green space in the area and providing residents a buffer from I-75 and the areaâs industrial neighbors.
The purchase program is focused on houses closest to I-75, including Edsel and S. Patricia Streets.

MPC is also negotiating with the city of Detroit Land Bank Authority to purchase or lease 38 abandoned houses and approximately 140 vacant lots owned by the city or the DLBA in the north Boynton neighborhood, with the objective of demolishing the abandoned homes and maintaining all vacant lots.
