Charter Communications Inc. donates to FAO COURTESY OF THE FOUNDATION FOR APPALACHIAN OHIO Charter Communications Inc. recently donated $50,000 to the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio s Cause Connector.  Cause Connector is an online giving site designed to connect people with local, nonprofit projects working in Appalachian Ohio. The platform was developed by FAO to help donors find projects they’d like to give to that are ready to launch now.  A second round of projects from Appalachian Ohio’s nonprofits, schools and community organizations will be featured on CauseConnector.org later this year. Athens Conservancy receives funds to celebrate Appalachian Ohio | News, Sports, Jobs

ATHENS The Athens Conservancy has received two grants. The conservancy has received a $4,420 grant from the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio’s Cause Connector to support the Conservancy’s Keep Finding Your Way Outdoors project. The project will encourage residents and visitors to explore the outdoors, learn about the Conservancy preserves and learn about the natural world. The multi-faceted project will center on trailheads at the Baker Preserve and Cucumbertree Trail where new kiosks will be equipped with informational display cases. The cases will house maps and informational postings that change with the seasons. The conservancy also has received a seed grant of $595 from Ohio’s Winding Road to fund a project to spotlight the beauty of the land and contribute to the spirit and environment of Appalachian Ohio.
