hillary clinton, it will be the wiggest election of all time in this country, and i think that s good. i think that s good. which is a good thing because a lot of people don t vote. but his republican competitor is predicting exactly the opposite, particularly now that the focus has moved to national security. listen to what former florida governor jeb bush told me yesterday. he s not electable. he s not a serious candidate, doesn t have serious views and as such would be eaten alive by hillary clinton. this guy is when national security becomes an issue, hillary clinton is very vulnerable and he takes away that advantage that we have. and the lineup is going to be a little different tonight here at the venetian hotel compared to what it was at the milwaukee fox business news debate. donald trump again will be center stage. he ll have ben carson on one side but look at this, ted cruz, who s been surging in the polls, particularly in iowa, will now be on trump s left, flanked by
stuart, stay with me, gloria borger and jeffrey and malia anderson and ana and a half row. people said when debates get more into details donald trump, ben carson kind of fade back a little bit. we ve seen that in past debates. do you expect that to tonight or is this an opportunity with again just the eight people on the stage? coming with the trade proposal i believe, a fairly detailed trade proposal. i ve seen details of it. i imagine he could talk about that. the economy is his terra firma and if you look at polling, republicans believe he s best able to handle the economy, trump, not so much with carson, and i think it s a higher hurdle for dr. carson, because he s less comfortable, we re talking about the economy and i think if i were carson that is what i would be talking about or trying to talk about. his people have said this is the debate he s been waiting for. he wants to talk about the economy. he wants to talk about the issues. they said the same thing before
he was able to win almost a double, worked once. a few times. he won a couple of states. this is a debate that has gone back to ronald reagan, are you a bold conservative or running in pastels. chris christie is a brilliant tactician, a very good debater and there is nothing worse than trying to start an argument with somebody and have them flick you off, ignore you, and that s what he did to bobby jindal all night, not give him the dignity of waging a fight. i think jindal understood this to be his last stand and so he had to give it everything. go for it. little overcaffeinated why do you think he will understand it s his last stand? what does he have to lose? it depends on how much money he has and who his sugar daddy is. do you see all four on the stage staying through to iowa, to new hampshire?
