A 48-inch water main broke in the Kingsessing neighborhood of Southwest Philadelphia on Wednesday morning. The water main break began at about 6 a.m. at the intersection of 56th Street and Springfield Avenue. At least three buildings have had to be evacuated, two people required medical attention and at least five residents had to be rescued from their homes.
