January 18, 2021 Joan Marie Cunningham GLASTONBURY – Joan Marie (Weik) Cunningham, born on Aug. 25, 1932, passed away at her home on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard L. Cunningham. Joan, a 57-year resident of Cheshire, was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was unwavering with her love and attention to her family, loved her crafts, baking and writing poems for special people and events in her life. Joan adored her devoted cat “Sugar,” named after her love of everything sweet. Born in Torrington to parents Jacob and Grace (Raymond) Weik, she graduated from James Morris High School, class of 1950, where she was an avid basketball player. After graduating high school Joan pursued a career in banking. While attending a wedding she met the love of her life “Lenny,” they married shortly after in 1956 and enjoyed 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2012.
