Westfield Finance Committee looks to transfer funds to support Western Avenue construction project
Updated Feb 19, 2021;
WESTFIELD – City officials voted to move $700,000 from the stabilization account to the Department of Public Works water division for the second phase of construction on Western Avenue to replace a water main and other improvements.
At Large City Councilor Richard K. Sullivan Jr. made the request for the funds saying it was important for the council to approve the appropriation in order to meet the project timeline.
Sullivan said the Finance Committee recommends the transfer rather than allow funds to come from the free cash account. The city is committed to a 20% match.
