Three new sub-funds of the Luxembourg-domiciled Franklin Templeton Investment Funds (FTIF) range will be registered for distribution in more than 10 European countries,.
Franklin Templeton Canada has launched two innovation-themed funds.
The funds are designed to invest in companies that become leaders through leveraging new technologies and changes within their industries.
The funds, called the Franklin Innovation Fund and Franklin Innovation Active ETF (ticker FINO), will be managed by Matthew Moberg, senior vice president and portfolio manager at Franklin Equity Group.
FINO will invest the majority of its assets in the Franklin Innovation Fund, the company said in a release.
“Rapid change and significant breakthroughs are occurring in key areas, including global e-commerce, genomics, intelligent machines, finance and exponential data,” said Moberg in the release.
