CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The 24-year-old grandson of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson appeared before a judge in Cleveland Municipal Court Tuesday morning.
Frank Q. Jackson had a pre-trial on a domestic violence charge for an incident in Cleveland involving his girlfriend on Dec. 18, 2020.
The victim told Cleveland police Jackson struck her in the head and face several times, after she asked Jackson to get her a diaper so she could change their child.

PARMA, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland Mayor Frank Jacksonâs grandson, Frank Q. Jackson, was indicted in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Thursday for assault, a second-degree felony, and failure to comply, a third-degree felony, for the incident involving Parma police in January.

CLEVELAND - Frank Q. Jackson, the grandson of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, is charged with two felonies - felonious assault and failure to comply - in relation to an alleged high speed police chase in Parma in the early morning hours of Jan. 24, 2021. The chase followed a traffic stop for tinted windows on a vehicle being driven by the younger Jackson. Body-cam video from the scene shows Jackson refusing to leave the vehicle; officers try to pull him out, at which time Jackson speeds off and drags Officer Matthew Midlin alongside the vehicle. Midlin was not injured and Jackson turned himself into police hours later. At the time, there was a warrant out for Jackson s arrest in connection with a domestic violence investigation. Cleveland, Ohio – Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson’s grandson has been indicted on two felony counts connected to a January incident in which police said he dragged an officer and led them on a high-speed chase. Frank Q. Jackson, 24, is indicted on charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and failure to comply, a third-degree felony, in connection with the January 24th encounter.
Cleveland.com reports that he is free on $10,000 bond.
Jackson is no stranger to trouble and is currently on probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge in which he was accused of hitting a woman with a truck hitch. He was also charged in Cleveland Municipal Court with misdemeanor domestic violence in connection with a December incident.
