Starchuk seeking nod for Surrey-Cloverdale again

Trot Insider has learned that the 2024 opening race dates scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 1 and Friday, Feb. 2 at Fraser Downs have been cancelled.

We have New Year’s Eve harness racing at Century Mile tonight (Dec. 31), and it comes with a great wagering opportunity. The 20-cent Pick 5, which starts in race 9 and ends with the final race of the card, the 13th, features a carryover of more than $24,000 and a mandatory payout.

On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe

Grey Sea topped the ladies featured pace at Fraser Downs on Thursday (Dec. 14) evening after she won the $10,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred following the pocket trip.
