Remembering Charles Wallace Sr.: ‘greatest of all time barber,’ ‘trailblazer and entrepreneur’

Wallace, 76, died on Jan. 5.
His services will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, at Wallace Funeral Directors, a business he helped to found.
According to his obituary, he was educated in Chester, South Carolina. After graduation he moved to Steelton, “pursuing business opportunities.”
He earned a Pa. barber license and “opened an all-inclusive barbershop in Harrisburg. He was excellent at his craft and earned a reputation as one of the best.”
His brother, Gene, worked alongside him for many years. After earning a master barber and teaching license, he hired more employees.
