The state of Texas is once again in talks to purchase Fairfield Lake State Park and the surrounding land, after previous discussions stalled.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has been authorized to purchase approximately 5,000 acres in Freestone County, including Fairfield Lake State Park.
