The Austin real estate developer who is at the heart of Attorney General Ken Paxton’s impeachment was arraigned on eight federal charges Friday, the Austin American- Statesman reported. Nate Paul was arrested by the FBI on Thursday.

On June 11, TPWD voted unanimously to use eminent domain to seize the 5,000-acre property that includes Fairfield Lake State Park.

Todd Interests spokesperson explained that TPWD appeared to have no interest in saving the park for citizens when the opportunity presented itself.
