El Ayuntamiento de Águilas ha adjudicado cinco licencias de auto-taxi, con capacidad igual o inferior a nueve plazas, incluido el conductor. Estas habilitan para la prestación del servicio en un vehículo concreto y cuya identificación ha de figurar en la misma.
Las nuevas licencias municipales de taxi se otorgan por período de 10 años, prorrogables por otros 10 años, aunque su validez queda condicionada al cumplimiento de las condiciones y requisitos establecidos para la obtención de la licencia y la constatación periódica de dicha circunstancia.
