Dr. Albert Globus, M.D., was born on Oct. 13, 1931, in New York and passed away on Jan. 24, 2021, in Santa Cruz. He lived to 89 and was a father to nine children. He healed the sick as a physician and psychiatrist and elucidated the workings of the brain as a scientist, making seminal discoveries in how the brain processes visual learning.
He was a dedicated therapist who took on many pro-bono cases and became a go-to forensic psychiatrist in the western United States, working for the defense in many capital-punishment cases.
While in practice in downtown Sacramento, he redeveloped and restored a Victorian building, converting it into a handsome multi-tenant medical office building titled The Jeffrey Building.
