Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings visited the department’s North Tryon Division, which is the home base for officers who responded to Monday’s shooting. Channel 9′s Erica Bryant talked to Jennings Wednesday about the standoff that killed four officers and put four more in the hospital. There is still much investigation that needs to take place, and there is so much that they do not yet know, Jennings told Bryant.

Authorities said the shooting took place as the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force was attempting to serve a warrant.

A U.S. marshal and two police officers were killed trying to serve a warrant in east Charlotte, North Carolina, around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

CMPD Chief Johnny Jennings said late Monday night that officer Joshua Eyer was one of the people killed by a suspect in east Charlotte.
