FULTON â Universal Metal Works and Universal Properties launched the first business support for the Fulton Block Builder (FBB) grass-roots revitalization project in 2017 and have continued with support each year since. The Sharkeyâs were impressed to learn that there has been $2 million invested by residents since FBB began.
John Sharkey III said, âEach year brings more inspiration and makes the city of Fulton a great place to do business. I am happy to see this kind of excitement in the city and am pleased to support further growth.â

FULTON – The Health Foundation for Western and Central New York has awarded a $10,000 grant to Fulton Block Builders to assist Oswego County and New York state in outreach, planning, and implementation efforts that promote healthy living for all ages.
Fulton Block Builders is seen as a model for other communities throughout the state who hope to become Age?Friendly Communities.
“We are proud to support Fulton Block Builders as they work to build a stronger, more livable community,” said Nora OBrien-Suric, PhD, president of the Health Foundation. “This project aligns with the Health Foundation’s goal to support age-friendly communities, an approach that centers the needs of residents in developing more livable, healthier, safer places to live for people of all ages.”

FULTON – Fulton Block Builders (FBB) has heard from many participants about how good it feels good to be part of something that’s improving their neighborhood, bringing neighbors together, and lifting up our city. In 2019, one block started a Pay-It-Forward and the idea caught on.
As a result, the FBB fundraising committee the 2021 Pay-It-Forward Campaign, which asks former recipients to help others take advantage of the program by contributing back. If a property owner has received funds from FBB in the past three years to make curb appeal improvements to their home, they have received a letter discussing Pay-It-Forward.

FULTON – Fulton Block Builders (FBB) has been receiving strong support from within the Fulton city limits. But for the fifth year in a row, business support has come from outside of the city with a donation from Sweet-Woods Memorial Co. in Phoenix.
Dennis Goss, owner/operator of Sweet-Woods Memorial Co. has presented Linda Eagan with a check for the Fulton Block Builder project.
“I am honored to support the Block Builder program. The work that this group has been able to accomplish is outstanding,” Goss said. “I believe the potential for year five will continue far exceed expectations. It is my understanding that FBB has awarded 800 properties nearly 1?2 million dollars and realized a resident investment of 2 million dollars. That is a lot to be proud of! I encourage businesses and individuals to learn all they can and support this momentum.”
