GLOVERSVILLE Fire units responded over the weekend to a fire engulfing the first floor of a home on Bloomingdale Avenue in Gloversville. Battalions from Gloversville and Johnstown received a report of a fire at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Nobody was occupying the building at the time of the blaze.

All residents got out safely and no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters, officials said.
Firefighters were called to 213 S. Main St. just after 1 a.m. for a fire at the residence, officials said.
They arrived to find the rear of the home well involved in fire. Fire also extended into the first-floor apartment and rear stairwell and eventually into the second-floor apartment and attic, officials said.
Firefighters also learned that people may still be trapped inside, officials said. Gloversville firefighter Zach Angus and Johnstown Captain Brian Miller conducted the primary search, while Captain Joe Gillis and Firefighter Brandon Paul attempted to knock down the main fire in the rear of the building.
