Infinite Frontier #0 would be the patch notes — and it’s not just UI tweaks. Future State was a preview of what’s coming next at DC Comics, with new creative teams allowed to take big swings on stories set in an indeterminate time in the future, before settling into the usual Canonical DC Universe Timeline. [ Infinite Frontier #0.] But we had no way of knowing how much of Future State was going to make it back into the main DC Universe, until now. Here are the five biggest takeaways fr...

DC Future State Teases Red Xs Identity ✖ There have been no shortage of surprising facets of DCs Future State, as the line-wide event has weaved in characters from across the publishers superhero canon. One of the most unexpected players in the two-month ordeal has been Red X, who -- despite being a fan-favorite character since his debut in the early-2000s Teen Titans cartoon -- had yet to officially appear in DCs comics canon. Future State: Teen Titans has definitely made good use of the c...

The Best Comic of the Week: Two Moons #1 – I’ve been looking forward to this comic since I saw it in Previews.  John Arcudi is writing a horror series set in the US Civil War.  That, with some pages of Valerio Giangiordano’s art, was enough to guarantee the preorder.  This issue introduces the main character, Two Moons, a young Pawnee man who was raised by a white family, and who is fighting on the side of the Union in the war.  He’s plagued with visions he doesn’t understand, and...

Advertisement Welcome back, true believers! Our journey so far has taken us across decades, from the bell-bottomed ’70s to the lit af present. As much as I would like to bend the fabric of space-time, and tell you exactly what the future holds, I’m going to keep it a buck: I ain’t got that kind of power, b. I’m just a man on a laptop who spends an inordinate amount of time reading comics. If I have any kind of superpower it’s having a job that makes people open to talking with a weird...

Rod Lamberti of comic shop Rodman Comics of Ankeny, Iowa, writes weekly for Bleeding Cool. Find previous columns here. I opened up my store and wanted to be different from other comics stores. Why offer the exact same experience and products other stores do? For years there was only Diamond for comic stores to order through. They forced their secret shopper program on us. If a comic store paid $4, they could receive Diamond comics on a Tuesday instead of Wednesday. The $4 a week went towards ...

My fellow Nubia: Real One yesterday, and all I will add is that, as someone who has been familiar with the character of Nubia for years, it has been incredible seeing her be highlighted in this way. Her origin as the twin to Diana Prince has always been oddly handled in some cases, but McKinney brings it to light, illustrating that Nubia is Diana’s  equal in every way. Their sisterhood is real, even though it is complicated. I love that reminder, and for those unfamiliar with the character...
