Tiger Produce Well-Rounded Effort in Final Indoor Home Meet

CLEMSON, S.C. - In their final home meet of the indoor season, the Clemson Tigers impressed all-around as the team recorded top-finishes and national marks in multiple events. Over 15 athletes recorded personal or season bests as the Tigers inch closer to the ACC Indoor Championships. Collectively from Friday and today, that is probably the best this team has performed, across the board, Track and Field Director Mark Elliot said. While track is an individual thing, it is still a team effort so just to see all the personal bests and impressive performances in all event areas is really good. The Tiger Paw is known through the track and field community as one of the best meets you will find in the country, it's almost like pre-nationals. When you have all the teams that are here, plus our team and are able to record top marks in a variety of events, you know you are doing something good. Headlining the meet was today's middle-distance group as Tarees Rhoden and Gladys Chepngetic

Her mark obliterates Tonya Carter's 7.15 record set in 2000 that lasted 23 years. Grant had set a personal best in every meet thus far this season, culminating in Friday's extraordinary performance. We came to Lubbock to give our athletes an opportunity to compete in the same altitude conditions they will at Nationals in Albuquerque and they took advantage, remarked Program Director Mark Elliott. Kiara set an ACC record which is absolutely huge. Victor and Gabriel both set huge PR's, and both our men's 4x400 relay teams are second best in the ACC which is a great place to be at this point in the season. Grant was not the only Tiger to put up impressive results at the Red Raider Open. Victor Ndiwa set a personal best in the 800 meter, running 1:50.75.
