A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League was stabbed to death on his way home in Gaibandha s Fulchhari upazila yesterday night.
The deceased was identified as Ashiqur Rahman Raki, general secretary of Fulchhari Chhatra League unit of Gaibandha, reports our Bogura correspondent quoting Mahfuzur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gaibandha Sadar Police Station.
OC Mahfuzur said Ashiqur was going home from Gaibandha city on his motorcycle. When he reached Halim Biri Factory, a group stopped his motorcycle and stabbed him indiscriminately and fled, leaving him critically injured, the OC said.
