National Great Rivers Museum Reopens Monday

WBGZ Radio 2/7/2021 | By Ross Pearson - WBGZ Radio The National Great Rivers Museum located off the Berm Highway next to the Alton Lock and Dam will re-open their doors to the public beginning tomorrow (Monday). The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operate the museum and say they will resume their regular operating hours along with their daily free public tours. Spokesperson Allison Rahnor tells the Big Z some of the precautions they have put in place. click play for Rahnor s comments Rahnor says one of the only differences for now will be no tours of the lock and dam. Reaching the top of the dam requires an elevator ride which is considered too confined of a space under the current COVID mitigation protocols. The museum’s operating hours are 9 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week.
