Coronavirus: Gambia warns runaway patients to report to treatment centres
Banjul, Gambia (PANA) - Gambia s Ministry of Health has asked 40 confirmed positive coronavirus patients who refused isolation or escaped from treatment centres to immediately report to the nearest treatment or quarantine centre.
“It has come to the attention of the senior management of the Ministry of Health that there are confirmed positive COVID-19 cases that are currently at large and interacting with the public,” Modou Njai, director of health programme, said in a statement made available to PANA in Banjul on Wednesday.
“Out of the total positives confirmed between 20 January and 25 January 2021, there are 40 cases that have refused isolation or have absconded from treatment centres. Similarly, the management is also aware that there are large numbers of travellers who recently arrived in The Gambia from hotspot countrie
