Steve, for the most part we have a decent commute. Over night we have one big problem. I do want to mention that traffic starting off on the east shore freeway does look good and its dry. Remember steve mentioned if it does rain tomorrow, you really need to give yourself extra time. If it does rain for the morning commute tomorrow it will be a big deal for the traffic. It will be a lot of slow traffic. It always happens that way. There is no reason to believe it would be otherwise. This is a look at the the bay bridge toll plaza and the traffic looks good. I want to put it on the map here. Interstate 880 a deadly collision. Breaking news out of oakland where all but one lane of southbound 880 is open. Paul chambers is there with more on what chp says might have caused the car to flip on to the other side of the freeway. Paul. Reporter that is correct. I want to show you the traffic. Its down to one lane here. It is slow going in this area. We are up on the highway. I will tell you this
The area was so unstable. The mud was too thick and deep. First responders were forced to retreat for their own safety. Some of them went in, literally got caught up to their armpits had to be dragged out by ropes themselves. Reporter the sheer size of the slide, a square mile in total was beyond what anyone here could imagine. All i could see was debris. Far as i could see. Here is the hill before. And then after the catastrophe. An a wall of mud and debris. Cant get ahold of my grandma. And there may be more danger to come. Disaster might come downstream. Now the fear is all that pent up water from the river pooling behind the mud. Which could lead to flooding. This is a river. That is dumping into a lake. It is continuing to fill up. And it is eventually going to go. Residents have win warned to prepare for evacuations on short notice while the search for survivors some where in this mass of mud continues. Fire destroyed a building today. It started as a grass fire around 4 30 this
The day. Best bet for any outdoor activity. So fog, sun, clouds. Morning sun giving away. A little bit of patchy fog. Clouding up this afternoon. Temperatures a lot of upper 50s or low 60s. A few mid 50s to the south and east. Here is sal. Steve, good morning. We are looking at a few things. All lanes of southbound interstate 880 have opened. Police say a man in his 40s was driving a bmw on northbound 880 when he lost control and flipped over to the southbound side. He crashed into a man in his 70s driving a honda crv. Both people died. It appears the driver of the bmw was going more than 100 mile an hour. Lets take a live look at the bay bridge. The metering lights are on. If you are driving at the freeways westbound on 80 coming in from the east shore freeway it does look good. Lets go to the maps now. Actually lets go to brian flores. Its a day that many people are excited for. No more waiting in long lines of traffic to open up at the caldecott. Reporter yeah no question about that

Area. Good afternoon. Im tori campbell. Back at it again, a costly mistake by b. A. R. T. Could unravel the fragile tentative agreement between b. A. R. T. Management and labor unions. Kights brian flores is live in ktvus brian flores is live in oakland where both sides are meeting today. Reporter good afternoon. Both sides are meeting today. We understand this meeting had nothing to do with negotiations. Instead, this is considered a meeting crunching numbers as one Union Representative told me. There was a bit of confusion when it came to section 4. 8. This was the paid family leave section in the contract. Management says they never agreed to pay six weeks of paid family leave and that leave was added to the contract. The unions say this was not a mistake and management knew what was in the contract since august. Today begins a costing meeting to see how b. A. R. T. Came up with the added costs of 44 million over four years if paid family leave were to be left in. The union said the
