Alberta’s current health regulations restricting people from gathering in large groups can bring on unexpected positive changes.
At least it has for the Sangudo & District Horticultural Society. President Heather Thompson said most of the club’s events were cancelled or delayed in 2020, with the exception of its annual Gardeners Day event.

The Gardeners Day event, which is sponsored by Lac Ste. Anne County, is held in January of every year.
“We do it in January because it breaks up the winter months and get people to start dreaming of gardening days ahead,” said Thompson.
