Defense attorney Jesse Harper said an eight-hour hearing resulted in the judge ruling that a videotaped interview of one of the children is unreliable.

On a foggy New Year’s morning, it was standing room only as Porter County Republicans met at the county council chambers to swear in their newly elected county and township officials. A smaller crowd was in attendance a few hours later when Porter County Democrats met in the room to do the same.

The judge said she has known Gary Germann for at least 20 years and said he serves as an example of passion and dedication.

What is lacking are the medical records, including the toxicology test results, of the driver accused of causing the crash, the prosecutor said.

The accused insulted veterans and downplayed the seriousness of drunken driving, "implying people killed by drunk drivers probably deserved to die," a court document reads.

"God Bless Ron DeSantis. Good for him. Hes unwilling to allow this thing to happen in the state of Florida, and Florida is doing pretty well," said state Sen. Aaron

"His whole back is road rash," the Portage mother said.

"If you do not have reliable information or you are speculating, we would respectfully request you stop sharing on social media," Portage police chief said.

"A medical report (to include toxicology screens) will need to be subpoenaed for investigators to have those test results," police said.

"That would include counts not just related to the death, but for everyone else that was injured in the crash," prosecutor said.
