Stamford Police arrest suspect in May 2020 murder

Updated: 10:48 AM EDT March 15, 2021 STAMFORD, Conn. Police have arrested a suspect in the May 2020 murder of a Stamford woman.  Police arrested Gary Greig, 67, and charged him with murder in the death of Staci Magazzi, 50. On May 29, 2020, police said they were told that Greig said he had killed his girlfriend. The police arrived at the apartment at 182 West Main Street and located Greig and Magazzi, who was dead on the apartment floor. The resulting investigation determined that Magazzi had died from a single gunshot wound to her face.   Greig has been in the custody of Connecticut Department of Corrections for a firearm charge related to this same incident. Greig is currently held on $1 million bond for the latest warrant.

Fairfield County Man Arrested For Shooting Death Of Girlfriend, Police Say

Read / Add Comments A 67-year-old Fairfield County man has been arrested for the murder of an area woman who was shot to death in May 2020. The Stamford Police Department arrested Gary Greig, age 67, of Stamford on Thursday, March 11 for murder in the death of 50-year-old city resident Staci Magazzi, said Lt. Tom Scanlon. Greig has been in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Corrections for a firearm charge related to this same incident, Scanlon said. He is currently held on a one million dollar bond for the latest warrant. On Friday, May 29, 2020, the Stamford Police Department was notified that Greig had stated he had killed his girlfriend, Scanlon said.
