Endangered Gastonia woman located
A woman Gastonia Police describe as endangered went missing overnight Tuesday and was found Wednesday morning.
Maria Toro, 75, went missing from her home in the 4000 block of Hickory Hollow Road, in the Huntington Forest neighborhood off South New Hope Road, at 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to Gastonia Police.
Gastonia Police Chief Travis Brittain told reporters before 9 a.m. Wednesday that Toro was located after an hours-long search and that she is fine. Police could be seen walking through the neighborhood at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday looking for her.
Gastonia Police, Gastonia Fire, York County Sheriff’s Office, Gaston Emergency Medical Service, Union Road Volunteer Fire Department, and Gaston County Office of Emergency and Fire Service assisted with the search.
