Rings hollow to me. come down on what the staff should do in the face of the presidents actions over the last ten days? >> i think i agree with everybody here, elements of what everybody saying but i think it comes down to who you are. if youre in the administration and you have real power, mcmaster, kelly, mattis certainly, i think -- i think brets right. you have to be there, you have to stay. although im concerned with the number of generals who are now depending on to sort of keep this admin...

General kelly. >> with steve bannon out of the presidents ear and i say that i guess its not as if either one cant just pick up the phone and touk to the other. with steve bannon not within a few feet of the president on a daily basis, does that in any measurable way change the presidents messaging at all? >> well see. i think what it does, it lets general mcmaster breathe a little easier. hes going to have someone stabbing him in the back now from outside the confines in the sanctity of west wi...

And the things he can accomplis accomplish. >> i think general kelly, general mcmaster, youve got a strong team there. not only on islamic fundamentalism and isis but also on issues like iran and north korea, i dont think the team the president has assembled is going to back down on these issues, i think it will be interesting to see whether there are nuances in terms of the rhetoric, and that is something we will just watch for in the coming days. >> heather: the rhetoric seems -- someone says ...

Inside the white house not to escalate troop levels in afghanistan and does not want to be entangled in foreign wars. hes part of the isolationist wing of the right and saw comments on north korea, theres no military option there. so if trump goes with the mcmaster and other sort of moore interventionist wing of the white house, again were going to see bannon with his ties and brirt ba breitbart going to war on his own against trump. >> ben shapiro, former editor at large at breitbart. ben, you ...

Media play together. what bannon has done and knows how to do and i expect based on the conversations ive had in the last -- in the last few hours but last few weeks that breitbart will go to war. theyve openly declared this now one of the editors #war on twitter. they are going to go after the quote/unquote globalists in the white house. steve bannon will base he canally -- basically continue a war hes been fighting in the white house. against people like h.r. mcmaster, and dean that powell, ga...

Theres one. that at the beginning jared kushner, reince priebus and steve bannon had equal rank in terms of power and they were sort of a three headed management structure of the west wing. jared kushner now obviously the only man standing and general kelly as a chief of staff but behind the scenes not there with the -- with the mandate of reining in the president. im told this to reflect that jared kushner and his allies in the west wing asserting themselves over the sort of nationalists and th...

Bannon is gone, it may remove some friction between gary cohn, hchl hm and steve bannon, but it doesnt change the character and values of president trump. >> this feels like they lanced a staff boil. there was one person that was determined to be the person that was leaking too much or it seems like everybody was in a fight -- bannons fate to me was sealed when he was in a fight with kushner, then gary cohn, general mcmaster. at some point youve picked too many fights. >> and one of the issues t...

Confederates. forget -- yeah, i might have a thing with anyone that owned slaves but people that are only known and only they have a statue because they were confederates, they were not presidents of the united states. when youre talking about stonewall jackson, and youre talking about robert e. lee, the only reason we know them is because they were fighting to overthrow this government and to keep slavery. how do you equate them even with those that were presidents -- >> i dont think you do. th...

Friday july 21st when sean spicer decided he was leaving, air quotes. a week later reince priebus, chief of staff gone. now steve bannon out on this friday. keep in mind anthony scare wham also decided to leave on a monday -- >> i think his fate was sealed on a friday though, am i right? its duck and cover fridays in the trump white house. its really important to understand that this doesnt happen quickly. this wasnt a knee jerk reaction to charlottesville. its really important not to give them ...

Strategy. i dont know if bannon will return to breitbart but my reporting is that thats possible if not likely. he described it as a killing machine so you can expect him to cause a lot of trouble on the outside, particularly for the quote up quote globalists that he wants to destroy who still remain inside the white house. >> youve got a great line from your piece this morning, it says one senior white house adviser said it seemed like bannon was setting himself up to be a martyr. >> yes. >> th...
