Indian Satellite Companies: Foreign orbital resources, typically, are non-Indian orbital slots and associated frequencies for operating satellites in space. An orbital slot is a parking slot in space for a satellite to operate at a particular frequency and provide satcom services over a particular country/geography.
Experts and industry executives said this will allow Indian players to tap surplus international satellite capacities to deliver satcom services at competitive rates in India.
“The government is investing in indigenous capabilities to lead development of 6G technology and funding R&D through various schemes like the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) and Digital Communication Innovation Square,” Chauhan said in reply to a query in Parliament.
6G wireless broadband technology is estimated to be ready for commercial deployment in India by around 2030. With data speeds potentially hitting 100 Gbps, it is estimated to be 100 times faster than 5G.
6G Technology: 6G is slated to pave the way for fast broadband networks powered by artificial intelligence, allowing automated infrastructure optimisation. With data speeds potentially hitting 100 Gbps, it is estimated to be almost 100 times faster than 5G mobile broadband. 6G also promises improvements in network connectivity over 5G. Typical 5G use cases such as smart cities, smart factories, smart farms and robotics are slated to hit the next level in terms of efficiency.
