Former Manchester City and Ivory Coast star Yaya Toure has officially made his first venture into the coaching arena.
As reported last month, Toure has been appointed as the new assistant coach for Ukrainian side Olimpik Donetsk, returning to the country and city where he once made his name with the now-defunct Metalurh Donetsk.
The 37-year-old had been without a club since leaving China League One side Qingdao Huanghai in January last year but spent the time obtaining his coaching badges in England, where he worked with Queens Park Rangers, Blackburn Rovers and the Professional Footballers Association.

Football agent Dimitry Seluk has revealed that his former player Yaya Toure will join the coaching crew of Ukrainian Premier League side Olimpik Donetsk.
Goal has reached out to the African football great and his current representative for further confirmation of Toure s exact role at the time of filing this report.
The former Barcelona and Manchester City midfielder has not joined any team since leaving Chinese side Qingdao Huanghai on January 1, 2020.
Toure trained with League Two side Leyton Orient for a brief period but wasn t offered a contract, and his agent reached out to several other clubs in a bid to revive his career.
