Flagler Health+
To kick-off its expansion into Flagler County, Care Connect+ awarded Innovators Micro Grants to four Flagler County nonprofit organizations for the purpose of supporting new or existing programs that positively impact persons experiencing homelessness, hunger, behavioral health issues, financial instability, affected by COVID-19, lack of access to affordable housing, transportation, medication or health care in Flagler County.
Care Connect+ is a social health organization, developed by Flagler Health+, that connects area residents with a single access point to services that address social determinants of health in a coordinated way across communities.

We left our
previous discussion with the final and still-productive years of Dr. Florence Rena Sabin. After graduating from Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1900, Dr. Sabin embarked on a nearly 40-year career at Hopkins and now-Rockefeller University, elucidating the developmental origin of the lymphatics and antibody responses to tuberculosis and training a generation of physician-scientists. She was truly a pioneer, becoming the first woman to be appointed to faculty at Johns Hopkins,
George Washington Carver – Botanist, Inventor and Educator
One of the most phenomenal scientists of the early 20th Century. He found amazing uses for the peanut, sweet potato and soy bean that continue to enrich our lives. And against racial obstacles, his achievements paved the way for generations of young African American scientists
The ultimate agricultural botanist and chemist, George Washington Carver, from his early years, was known for his curiosity and his burning zeal to know everything , especially about nature. He soon became fascinated with how to use botany and other sciences to create products that would benefit the economic and agricultural productivity of poor black farmers– a goal that would ultimately set him on a path to make history as the scientist who created so many products that continue to benefit the world.
