BELOITâAn announcement of a name change and a restructuring of divisions at Fairbanks Morse included assurances that virtually nothing would change at the Beloit manufacturing facility, with one exception.
Fairbanks Morseânow Fairbanks Morse Defenseâwill move its headquarters out of the manufacturing complex and into offices in downtown Beloit.
âWe are aggressive and growing, and we are having a lot of fun. And we are committed to the Beloit community,â said George Whittier, CEO of Fairbanks Morse Defense.
He said the company currently is in talks with a property owner in downtown Beloit and he cannot say where the headquarters offices will be until contracts are signed, but he said the deal is very close to completion.
BELOITâFairbanks Morse has changed its name to Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD), which will serve as the umbrella company for its different divisions.
The move reflects the companyâs emphasis on service to its military and commercial maritime customers while also enhancing its ability to quickly respond to its current customer base with a broader range of aftermarket service solutions, a news release from the company stated.
The rebranding change will not result in any workforce reduction at the Beloit manufacturing facility and the Beloit facility will continue to manufacture engines for military naval vessels and other products, company officials said.
